Philip Metzger has penned an interesting preview of our upcoming concert in the Allentown Morning Call here. We had an excellent rehearsal on Monday evening, and choir members are now preparing for two intense rehearsals with the brass players on Friday and Saturday. The office has informed us that there were, as of this morning, only five tickets left, but have also assured us that we’ll try to fit everyone we can in for this concert of spectacular music! My post here has more details about the concert. Please join us for an exciting afternoon of music-making.
Update, 10/22/10: We completed our first rehearsal with brass earlier this evening, and the sense of excitement among the musicians is palpable. Rehearsals that bring together vocalists and instrumentalists for the first time can be a little daunting – a lot of details have to come together in a short amount of time, but there’s a great sense of collaboration and esprit de corps among the musicians, all under the steady leadership of our fantastic conductor. We’re really excited for our audience to hear this music! The Express Times has an article about Sunday’s concert here.
Update, 10/23/10: We had our final rehearsal today, and things are in very good shape for tomorrow’s concert! Please don’t forget about Greg Funfgeld’s always-informative pre-concert lecture, which begins at 3:00 pm.
