The Choir has a full plate in the coming month! Bach at Noon is one week from today, on Tuesday, March 8th, and, later in the month, we’ll be presenting our Spring Concert, entitled Songs of Hope, in both Harrisburg and Bethlehem, as well as recording the program for our second CD with the Analekta label. I will be posting soon about the music for Bach at Noon – a small group of singers has been working on Cantata No. 23, and it’s a gem! Additionally, Greg Funfgeld and Loretta O’Sullivan have been working on a Beethoven cello sonata, and Greg tells me that it’s coming together quite well. I’ve also been pondering the music for the Spring Concert, and I think I will be blogging about each piece separately – it’s going to be an absolutely fantastic program of music rarely heard in the Valley. April will see the choir digging into repertoire for the upcoming 104th Annual Bethlehem Bach Festival, which will include a rich feast of performances, including the St. John Passion, the Mass in B Minor, and much, much more. We will also be recording the St. John for Analekta during the week between Festival weekends. Please stay tuned!
