The Christmas Oratorio tells the story of the Nativity with some of Bach’s most evocative music.
In addition to the performance in front of our audience, the Bethlehem Christmas Concert will be live-streamed and available ON DEMAND, with tickets on sale through the end of December. A secure link will be sent to enable patrons to view the concert.

FAQ’s about viewing Bach’s Christmas Oratorio, from The Bach Choir of Bethlehem
- Your On-Demand ticket email confirmation will have a link that gives you secure and individual access to view the concert.
- You MUST CLICK THAT LINK to be registered with Overture+, our streaming service.

How do I access the concert?
- Click on the link in your confirmation email to access OVERTURE+, our streaming service.
- Click the “Watch Now” button.

May I watch it more than once?
- The concert will remain ON-DEMAND until Friday, December 31. You may access it a total of 5 times before the link is removed on January 1, 2022.
Where can I watch the concert?
- After clicking on the concert link in your email, you can watch the performance on your computer (including desktop, laptop, ipad) or on a mobile device. You can also view it on your SmartTV (see below).
I clicked the link. What does the six-digit access code mean? Do I need that to view?
You do not need this to view. The six-digit code is to assist in viewing the performance on your smart TV web browser.
To easily stream to your smart TV using the code, follow these simple steps:
- Open http://overture.plus/tvon your TV web browser and look for your 6-digit TV code (in the box at right).
- Click the performance link from your e-mail confirmation.
- Once your performance link is open, look in the gray footer bar for a field to enter your 6-digit TV code.
- Your stream will begin playing on your smart TV!
I bought a second On-Demand ticket for someone else. How do they access the concert?
- As noted in question 1, your email confirmation of the gift purchase includes a link to reach Overture+, our streaming service.
- Click it to reach a page that includes a link for your recipient to access the concert.
- From here, copy that concert link and send via email to the gift recipient so they can confirm their own concert access.

In Parts 1-3, an opening chorus of irresistible rhythmic drive and remarkable invention, trilling flutes and oboes, heraldic trumpets, thundering drums, and lightning-fast strings are our entrée into Bach’s remarkable fusion of music, narrative, and theology.
We also hear impossibly joyful choruses, tender, intimate arias, and a stunning evocation of the shepherds pipes dialoguing across a pastoral scene, with each part scored for soprano, alto, tenor and bass solos.
Part 1: On the First Day of the Festival of Christmas
Announces the birth of Christ, and reflects on the Holy Child
Orchestra includes 3 trumpets, timpani, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, strings, and continuo (bassoon, cellos, string bass, and organ)
Part 2: On the Second Day of the Festival of Christmas
The angel appears to the shepherds in the field
Orchestra includes 2 flutes, 2 oboes d’amore, 2 oboes da caccia, strings, continuo (cellos, string bass, and organ)
Part 3: On the Third Day of the Festival of Christmas
The shepherds go to find Mary, Joseph, and the Baby Jesus; the shepherds return to their fields, glorifying God

Throughout the season, we will continue to monitor the news surrounding COVID-19. The safety of our audience, artists, volunteers and staff is our priority. We follow regulations issued by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the CDC and will review and modify our protocol and activities as needed.
