Great Expectations: Bach in Leipzig
We are delighted to welcome back Dr. George Stauffer to present our lecture at this year’s Festival. Dr. Stauffer is a Distinguished Professor of Music History and Dean Emeritus, Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University. Educated at Dartmouth College, Bryn Mawr College, and Columbia University, he is well known for his writings on the music and culture of the Baroque Era and the life and works of Johann Sebastian Bach, in particular.
His publications include Bach: The Mass in B Minor—The Great Catholic Mass ( December 2018). He is currently at work on the volume Why Bach Matters, to be published by Yale University Press.
FREE Lecture – no tickets are required. The lecture will take place in Zoellner Arts Center’s Room 145.
Please note: Patrons are required to wear a mask while indoors. Vaccination against Covid-19 is strongly recommended for all guests attending Bach Choir performances.
