Daniel R. Melamed is a professor of musicology at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music. His research focuses on J. S. Bach, Mozart-era opera, and 17th- and 18th-century music. As president of the American Bach Society and director of the Bloomington Bach Cantata Project, he brings deep expertise to his work. In his presentations, Melamed explores Bach’s use of string instruments, revealing the demands on Bach’s musicians and providing new insights into listening to Bach’s music.
