DESCRIPTION:The cast and creative team of Mr. Bach Comes to Call \n“Mr. Bach Comes to Call is an excellent primer for the life and work of this great composer.  It will excite\, amuse and educate children ages 6 – 12\, and provide a foundation for an appreciation of Bach’s music that will last a lifetime.” \n—Scene Magazine\, London\, Ontario\, 2007  \n \nLIVE AND ON STAGE for the first time since 2006\, the cast\, the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and the Bach Festival Orchestra present:  “Mr. Bach Comes to Call.”   \nWhat would you ask Johann Sebastian Bach if he popped in on your piano lesson one day? Elizabeth\, a 12-year-old piano student in Bethlehem\, has that opportunity in the delightful staging of “Mr. Bach Comes to Call.”  This year’s Family Concert treats audiences to a lively blend of topics – from a wig that Mr. Bach call “a nuisance\,” to the reaction to his composition Saint Matthew Passion in his lifetime (which was less than passionate)\, to Bach’s wish that he had been able finish all the music he felt in his soul.  The kinship between Bach and Elizabeth\, the connections they forge across the years and – not least – the musical excerpts from more than 20 works\, performed by The Bach Choir and the Bach Festival Orchestra make this a family concert that truly offers something for everyone. \nRepertoire includes excerpts from: \n\nBrandenburg No. 5\, III\nFlute Sonata in C Major\, II\nPiano Gigue from French Suite in G Major\nCantata 21 No. 2\nSinfonia from Cantata 169\nSaint Matthew Passion Chorale 17\nBist du Bei Mir\nCantata 207 No. 2\nCantata 129 No. 5\n\nPerformance is in Zoellner Arts Center’s Baker Hall. \nShare This:
