DESCRIPTION:The Greg Funfgeld Family Concert \n*** UPDATE:  Due to ongoing community health concerns surrounding Covid-19\, along with gathering restrictions that will impact both the musicians and our audience\, we regret to announce this concert has been cancelled. \nIf you have purchased tickets\, please click HERE to review your options. ***\nAt the center of our Family Concert is English composer Benjamin Britten’s show-stopping Young Person’s Guide to the Orchestra\, which will include the Lehigh University Philharmonic\, as well as dancers from Lehigh University and the Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Performing Arts.   \nBritten’s Guide sets a theme by the English baroque composer\, Henry Purcell\, at the center of the kaleidoscope of his compositional skills while demonstrating the different sections of the orchestra.  Childlike wonder suffuses all of Britten’s music\, but perhaps none more than the Guide.  Expect orchestral fireworks\, intricate dance\, and much humor\, an exciting and exceptionally compelling introduction to the instruments and inner-workings of an orchestra. \nShare This:
