SUMMARY:Bach at Noon | November 12
DESCRIPTION:Our season continues our inspiring Bach at Noon series in Bethlehem. Gather with us for this free concert series\, a musical gift to our community. Hear members of the Bach Choir and Bach Festival Orchestra along with exciting guest artists. Enjoy insightful and enlightening remarks by Christopher Jackson\, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Bach Choir. The November Bach at Noon concert was named in honor of Greg Funfgeld\, in celebration of his 25th season as the sixth conductor of the Bach Choir of Bethlehem\, his extraordinary vision including the initiation of Bach at Noon\, and the phenomenal growth and development of the choir’s program and artistry under his leadership. The concert is named and supported in part by a generous endowment gift from Donald and Christine Wertman. Come celebrate the coming holiday season with us!\n\n\n\n \nAbout the Music\n\nNovember’s concert will feature music from the seasons of Advent and Christmas including charming French Baroque Christmas carols for our string orchestra by Marc-Antoine Charpentier. Following will be a performance of Bach’s Advent Cantata\, BWV 36\, Schwingt freudig euch empor (Soar joyfully upward!)\, opening with a raucous choral movement that highlights our wonderful Bach Choir\, gorgeous solos for all four voice parts\, and one of the most stunning duets for violin and soprano soloists. \nThe Bach Choir of Bethlehem is thrilled to welcome back some beloved and familiar soloists. Clara Rottsolk\, the soprano soloist from our Saint Matthew Passion recording\, will reunite with us for this performance. She is joined by other nationally acclaimed returning soloists\, Robin Bier (Alto)\, James Reese (Tenor)\, and Brian Ming Chu (Baritone). \n  \n \n\nClick the above logo to livestream this month’s Bach at Noon \n\n\nCLICK HERE TO VIEW THE DIGITAL PROGRAM \nPlease help us meet November’s Bach at Noon Donation Challenge!\nDavid & Carol Beckwith are sponsoring a $1\,000 matching grant in recognition of the success and hard work of the leadership and staff of the Bach Choir. \n\nSupport the November Donation Challenge with a freewill donation at the concert using the provided envelopes\, donate online at bach.org/SupportBachAtNoon\, or text BNOON to 44-321.
