SUMMARY:Bach at Noon | March 11
DESCRIPTION:Our season continues with our inspiring Bach at Noon series in Bethlehem. Gather with us for this free concert series\, a musical gift to our community. Hear members of the Bach Choir and Bach Festival Orchestra along with exciting guest artists. Enjoy insightful and enlightening remarks by Christopher Jackson\, Artistic Director and Conductor of the Bach Choir. The March Bach at Noon concert is named in honor of the birthday of Johann Sebastian Bach on March 21 by Dr. Albert & Ingrid May\, long-time Guarantors of the choir\, and residents of Marion\, Ohio\, and is supported in part by their generous endowment gift.\n\nAbout the Music\nExperience the timeless brilliance of Bach as violinist Elizabeth Field and harpsichordist Kerry Heimann bring to life the Sonata in G Major\, BWV 1019\, a dazzling showcase of interplay between violin and keyboard\, full of virtuosic energy and lyrical beauty. From the St. Matthew Passion\, the deeply moving aria “Erbarme dich\, mein Gott” will stir the soul with its heartfelt violin line. The program concludes with Vergnügte Ruh\, beliebte Seelenlust\, BWV 170\, a luminous solo cantata exploring themes of inner peace and spiritual longing. \nAbout the Performers\nHighlighting this month’s performance is Gabrielle Razafinjatovo\, soprano\, winner of the 2024 Young American Singers Competition. Razafinjatovo\, recognized for her expressive artistry and deep connection to Bach’s music\, will perform as a featured soloist. The competition\, held biennially in collaboration with the American Bach Society\, is a premier national competition designed to foster emerging talent with a passion for the music of J.S. Bach. The competition provides singers with opportunities for professional growth\, allowing finalists to showcase their abilities before a distinguished panel of judges in front of a live audience at the Choir’s Bach Festival in May. \nAs a co-winner of the competition\, Razafinjatovo received a $1\,500 career development grant and the opportunity to perform as a soloist at this month’s Bach at Noon series under the direction of Artistic Director and Conductor Christopher Jackson. The distinguished judging panel included Sherezade Panthaki\, Clara Rottsolk\, Dr. Daniel Melamed\, and Christopher Jackson. \n\n \nCLICK HERE TO VIEW THE DIGITAL PROGRAM \n \n\nClick the above logo to livestream this month’s Bach at Noon \nSupport the Bach at Noon Concert Series!\nSupport the Bach at Noon concert series with a freewill donation at the concert using the provided envelopes\, donate online\, or text BNOON to 44-321.
