Spring Concert Wrap-Up

It’s been a whirlwind of a weekend for The Choir, and the 2011 Spring Concerts are now doubtless treasured memories for all involved.  We had large audiences and rewarding performances in both Harrisburg and Bethlehem, and it was a delight to share this program with so many.  Particular kudos to Greg Funfgeld for his passionate leadership, to Tom Goeman for his breathtaking accompanying, to Bridget George, Karen Glose, Kathy Link, Bonnie Lindsey, and Sarah Baer (our fantastic administrative staff), and, finally, to my wonderful colleagues in the choir for a stunning afternoon of music-making.  Yesterday was the first day of spring, and, in the performance, we shared in a beautiful foretaste of the season to come.  It was a wonderful way, also, to remember our dear friend and colleague, Winnie Erdman.  Steve Siegel has a review up on the LV Music Blog of the Morning Call, here.  I’m including an idiosyncratic slide show of photographs from the weekend – idiosyncratic, because it’s hard to capture the group from within.  The whirlwind is not quite over yet – we begin recording the program today for our second title with Analekta.  More on that process, soon.
